Various Advantages and Benefits of Using Ceramic Fiber Modules
Various Advantages and Benefits of Using Ceramic Fiber Modules
February 16, 2018

Enterprises that are involved in producing red bricks, shale bricks and other related products use tunnel kilns that make use of ceramic fiber modules as refractory lining materials.

Aside from the great high heat resistance property of this material, ceramic fiber modules also offer plenty of great benefits that make these ceramic modules the ideal lining materials for furnaces and kilns.

These benefits and advantages include:

Lightweight Design - Ceramic fiber modules are designed to be a light weight, which makes them easier to use and quicker to install. They are a newer, modern kind of light, energy saving refractory material. They have a weight of only one seventh of heavy materials. They are also only one third of the weight of lightweight bricks. This allows them to reduce the load on the steel structure of the kiln and furnace to prolong its life-span.

Low Thermal Conductive Coefficient - A ceramic fiber module has a low conductive thermal coefficient that is only one tenth of lightweight refractory lining and castable lining material. It is significantly lower compared to other suitable lining materials.

Preheat Process Not Required - Once the lining is installed the furnace or kiln is ready to be used. Ceramic fiber modules do not require a preheat process, so the kiln can be used immediately after they are installed. Compared to other refractory lining materials that need to be preheated, ceramic modules are ideal materials to use for time efficiency.

Impressive Chemical Stability - A ceramic fiber module has a neutral and mild acidity. It only reacts with strong acid and strong alkali and it doesn’t react with weak acid, weak alkali, water, and oil. It also doesn’t corrode lead, aluminum, or copper, making it a great refractory lining material for kilns and furnaces.

Excellent Thermal Insulation - Tunnel kilns that use ceramic fiber modules are not hot to the touch on the outside, making it safer for the people that work around it. Inside the kiln, the temperature is generally 850-1400 degrees but outside it only reaches 35 degrees or less.
