In any application involving a continuous temperature that exceeds 400°C, a high temperature gasket is all but mandatory for reliable and efficient operations. Which materials are best for a high temperature gasket?
A FibreCast gasket can be formed out of any number of useful materials, but you’ll want to carefully consider your intended application before selecting one. These applications go beyond simple heat resistance, however. Our ceramic fibre blankets, for example, can resist temperatures of over 1,200°C, and are highly resistant against chemical damages – but if you needed a gasket that would be resistant to UV or to ozone, you might find that a silicone gasket works much better for your purposes, despite its usual heat resistance that ends around 300°C.
A high temperature gasket from FibreCast can be formed from silica, polycrystalline, zirconia, ceramic fibres, and several other chemistries.
